Debstudio scope included design and documentation of all the joinery including fixtures and finishes selections. We were involved in the early conception of the project with the Architect to ensure the interiors were reflective of the architectural intent. The existing character of the Queenslander is maintained where possible.
As a family home consisting of 3 boys it was imperative to ensure the materials were robust, hence the use of plywood and laminate joinery. The finishes palette is neutral and timeless, while the introduction of red (selected by the client) as an accent colour, gives an added vibrancy and sense of fun.
Overall, the end result is a very welcoming home which takes advantage of its existing surrounds and views to garden, pool and city. A lot of this due to the clever architectural planning and vision. This house is one that definitely feels like a home – warm, welcoming and light.
